In November 1988, Beyond Outside began as a circulating letter-- each reader would add their own story and send it to the next person on the list. The "subscriber" list was very small but a complete cycle seemed to take 12 months. In 1992, Beyond Outside became a quarterly "zine"-- xeroxed and mailed to an expanded list of contributors. In 1996 Beyond Outside went world-wide (WWW, that is).
Beyond Outside features stories on nature, travel, and outdoor
recreation; reviews of equipment and books; photography and found
art; and random thoughts. Now it includes links to useful and interesting
resources on the web.
