0891 Crossing over the Boardman River

Historical Bridge and a new look for the Great Lakes Central: the railroad unveiled
a new paint scheme for its locomotives—here we see it applied to a recent acquisition:
six-axle locomotive number 382. This unit is forty-eight years old—it was built as an
EMD SD40 in 1970 as Penn Central 6262. The unit in fresh paint is crossing over the
Boardman River Bridge—the Grand Traverse County Courthouse is visible in the background.

3342 Crossing over the Boardman River

A New angle on the Boardman Bridge: in this shot the train is returning from Beacon and
is seen crossing over the Boardman River Bridge.
