Digital Photography—Contacts Sheets Fall Quarter 2017, Kalamazoo College Richard Koenig, Professor Make Contact Sheets Using
Adobe Bridge Once
you have your selects in a folder—let’s make them into contact (proof)
sheets Near the upper right corner, instead of “essentials”, click the
tab that says “output” You’ll do the following in that mode… In
the upper left side of the screen, look for a tab that says “folders” Click on the folder you’ve called “selects” Now
look to the right side of the screen and set a few things… Document: paper size (U.S. Letter) Layout: set rows and columns—do 3 by 4 (if you
have 36 images—12 per page) or 3 by 5 (if you have 45 images—15 per
page) I also click “use
auto-spacing” and “rotate for best fit” Go
down to the bottom, ignoring many panels, and un-click “view pdf after save” And
then hit “Save” Now
you can name this PDF and save to the desktop (and print) You
can use the laser printer in the FABLAB for these contact sheets Spend
some time with these contacts (your “rough cut”) to pick out your “heroes” “Heroes”
are the ones that you will (first) put up for critique, and (second) possibly
turn in as final prints You’ll want to pick out six, eight, or ten final
prints depending upon the assignment Make Contacts with Photoshop The
powers that be have once again allowed us to make contacts with Photoshop You can do this by going to Menu Bar, File, Automate, Contact Sheet II The
set up at this dialogue box is much like what is listed above—find the
folder, set paper size, column and rows, etc. Then flatten and save as a PSD. |
