To the northwest of Imeghrane, the High Atlas widens into the Middle Atlas, Berber tribes of the Tashelhait-speaking Masmouda group give way to the Tamazight-speaking Sanjaha group, and "transhumance" (herders move between rock shelters in the mountains and on the plains) gives way to more truly "nomadic" pastoralism, with herders following water and forrage in goat hair tents. |
