Week 1 |

Week 2 |
Small group meetings begin. | For this week's meeting: for each proposed topic, write a summary of your exploration so far which includes at least 3 accessible sources, At least two main theorems or interesting applications of the topic, and at least one new definition or term you have learned. Add this assignment and your previous assignment to Moodle before your meeting this week. Check out General Principles of Communicating Math and Form for Presentation Feedback Submit your summary of progress report (in Moodle) by noon on Friday. |
Week 3 |
Small group meetings. | Prepare a 5-10 minute presentation on your subject, as discussed in class, for your next meeting. Submit your summary of progress report (in Moodle) by noon on Friday. |
Week 4 |
Small group meetings; each will share progress/questions for about 20 min. | Peer Review Form from MathComm Submit your summary of progress report (in Moodle) by noon on Friday. |

Submit your summary of progress report (in Moodle) by noon on Friday. NOTE: There is an MC2 Wed of Week 5. |
Week 6 |
Small group meetings; each will share progress/questions for about 20 min. |
Submit an outline of your talk (in your TEAMS channel, and in Moodle) by noon on Friday and submit a brief summary of progress in Moodle by noon on Friday. (This outline should have a rough idea of how much time you want to spend on it in the talk.)
For next week's meeting, you'll have 10 minutes to share your math progress
And, you'll be expected to have read the outlines of your teammates and comment on them. NOTE: There is an MC2 Wed of Week 6. |
Week 7 |
Small group meetings; each will share progress/questions for about 10 min. Comments on outlines. |
For Friday: submit slides and script for first third of your talk (i.e., 15-20 minutes) into Teams channel. For Monday: read your teammates' documents and be prepared to comment on them. Read the following if you haven't already: McCarthy's article Kercheval's article Devadoss's article |
Week 8 |
Small group meetings; Focus on your questions about your talk and on communication. | For next week's meeting: Record 5-10 min of your talk to watch together in class. At least 24 hrs before your meeting, upload your slides and script for the first two-thirds of your talk. Be prepared to comment on your teammates' documents. |
