I was born in Argentina, where I grew up hoping to become a soccer player. The skills just weren’t there, so I turned to my backup career in science. I attended the Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific, later obtained a B.A. from College of the Atlantic, and then completed a Ph.D. at the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University.

I was a post-doc at the University of California Santa Cruz and the Southwest Fisheries Science Center, working with Dist. Prof. Marc Mangel and Dr. Stephan Munch. Before coming to K, I was a visiting assistant professor at the University of the Pacific.
